OCIA or the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, is a journey which gently leads adults into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ within the Catholic Church. For adults seeking Baptism, First Eucharist, or Confirmation, it is a spiritual time of preparation and conversion for the celebration of the sacraments they are seeking. This year long process is for unbaptized adults and for baptized Christians of other faiths. Catholics who are baptized but who have not received the sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation are also invited to be part of the process.
OCIA begins usually in September with weekly Tuesday evening from 6:45 to 8PM gatherings and continues into May. OCIA participants also attend weekly Mass as a group on Sunday mornings. Besides providing catechesis of the Catholic teachings, OCIA seeks to encourage and enlighten one’s faith, direct one’s heart to God, and guide one into a full participating member of the Body of Christ.
Please Note: OCIA will begin on Tuesday, September 6th located in our Parish Library (Room 13).
